Featured kids iPad /iPhone App

Guess Moo! - fun musical guide for your child through the world of animals for iPad / iPhone

I was recently provided access to an app called "Guess Moo" via Tomoson.com. This is a learning app targeted at young children and teaches about common animals and the sounds they make. When the child taps an animal, a short poem featuring that animal pops up. Very cute app especially for those moms with animal and farm loving kiddos.

Guess Moo is an iPhone/iPad app for children introducing the sounds and sight recognition of twelve animals including cats, dogs, cows, chickens, horses, roosters, goats, ducks, sheep, pigs, geese and donkeys.

The app, priced at $2.99 and is downloadable from iTunes here.

The age group is 2-5 and I think it would be better for the younger children. The colors and graphics are eye catching and cute. Kids can listen to a few and come back and listen to some more and than take the quiz. Every time they take the quiz it builds memory. The child's hand and eye coordination is developed as they get to pop the balloons before the animals fly off the screen. When the balloons are popped the animals will herd on the ground. Your child can develop cognitive skills, listening skills, general and visual memory, motor skills and reaction time playing this simple cute and fun little game.
I would not pay 2.99 for this app, maybe .99 at the most. The age group is more like 1~3 instead, my friend's 4 year old was bored quickly with it, but his little sis that is age 1 delighted in playing for a good 30 min. of quality time with mommy.
As a homeschool mom, I did like the poetry aspect of the app and the words that my younger one could easily read back to me, if it was more geared toward learning letters and words along with the animal sounds that might be even better.
Stars are 3 out of 5 from our household.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
