Elegance and Exotic Meet Love and Passion: Shebusa Creates Timeless Art #fashion

I have to admit that I am not a bling bling kinda girl anymore and enjoy the simpliar things in life, but I am a sucker for shiney colorful and the out of the ordinary. That is why these bracelets caught my eye. Made from various different leathers like ostrich, alligator, stingray, beavertail, frogskin and snakeskin, then combined with a shiney melted down metal that is fashioned into a bracelet just for your wrist.

Can we say Ohh La La ladies! I am loving the colors an vibrancy of these jewelry creations. I would love to get a gift like this, hint hint Mr Block... Lol. The blues and purples are my favorites, you can mix and match with outfits, the pink thin bracelet is so cute. I do appreciate that animals are not just harmed to make these either, the animal skins are by products of animals that have passed away somehow, not just killed to make jewelry.

Shebusa creates an elegant and timeless piece of jewelry created by the beauty of a wrist when a shiny metal bracelet is melted down and merged with an exotic skin selected for you with love and passion. Created by "Chris" a French designer who left the corporate world a few years ago to give something real to customers, the elegant custom designed bracelets by Shebusa that are custom created for each and every customer. You choose your design, the skin, the color to help insure that it’s a perfect fit for your personality and your wardrobe.

Visit the Shebusa Etsy shop to view some examples and be sure to contact them for how they can create a very special customized bracelet for you. Be sure to also follow the Shebusa Facebook page.

Sweet Strawberry Goodness for your Valentines

I saw this and knew I had to make it and blog about it, so pretty and yet so delicious. I love to make fruit pizza's and my family loves to gobble them down. The brownie based sweet treat was a hit with my household tummies as well. A bunch of strawberry monsters I have living here I tell you!

This heavenly treat comes from "i am mommy" blog but adaptable to suit your tastes and budget as needed.

I also used this super fudgey brownie recipe here
made them on a flat cookie sheet so I could cut out the hearts
I used cookie cutters of all sizes and a knife to do the larger one

Get some nice pretty strawberries and cute them into heart shapes
Next I made a cream cheese spread.
1 8oz package of cream cheese
1/2 cup powder sugar
1/2 tsp clear vanilla extract
Blend all ingredients well.

Simply spread the cream cheese over the brownie getting as close to the edges as you want.
Now add all your heart shaped pretty strawberries
to make your masterpieces!
The finished splendor  will look like this
Talk about a special treat on Valentines morning or for a special desert that evening drizzled with chocolate syrup................hmmmmmm

Enjoy!

All dressed up and it snowed...

All dressed up For Winter time now, our blog that is......

I love to change up the scenery as you can tell, and in comes winter complete with a header from last years great "Christmas tree hunt" when we went to the mountains in
the snow looking for that perfect tree.... boy it snowed, as you can see by the roads our trek to the tree farm was not an easy one, but so worth it. We began a yearly
tradition of driving to the mountains to chop down our Christmas tree as a family and spending the day all together no matter the weather. This week we will go again on our yearly trek, thought I would post some of last years 2010 pics. In the mountains near Boone North Carolina.

Here are a few more pics I love:

The blog header above was created with this cute picture, one of my silly kids running up and down this snowy hill....

Monday Menu fun learning in the kitchen

What is your mood today?? Happy pumpkin? Sad, grouchy, lazy, hungry,I can tell you that this mom is a tired pumpkin today, so I was happy to find print all sorts of October and Halloween themed lessons today from abcteach.com, including this delicious recipe below.
What else can your kids learn in the kitchen?
Math: let them count, measure and multiply your ingredients,
Spelling: Make a list of fun spelling words from your recipe or theme of the week, such as "Pumpkin, Butter, Flour, Sugar, Cinnamon, Eggs, Baking, Spatula, Halloween, Sprinkles, Shapes, Oven, Kitchen, Puree, Ounces, Pounds, Cups.........it could go on and on.
Chemistry: what elements are in your recipe?
Science: Heat, liquids, solids, oil and water experiments
English: Find the nouns and verbs in this recipe, make some cool sentences or stories about the ingredients coming to life.
Handwriting: Of course they can write out the recipe and make a booklet or lapbook of fall recipes.

See how homeschool is anytime school, we think learning 24/7

Pumpkin Spice Bars

2 c graham cracker or gingersnap crumbs
7 Tbs butter, melted

2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
4 eggs
1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
1 c vegetable oil
1 can (16 oz) cream cheese frosting
Halloween shaped sprinkles
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Line a 15x11 inch pan with foil and set aside.
In a small bowl, mix crumbs, butter, and 1/4 c sugar until well combined. Spread
mixture into prepared pan. Smooth mixture in pan to form an even crust.
Bake crust until fragrant, about 6 min.; let cool completely.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, beat eggs, remaining sugar, pumpkin puree, and oil; stir in flour
mixture.
Using a rubber spatula, spread pumpkin mixture evenly over the cooled crust in pan.
Bake until filling pulls away from the pan, 25-30min.; let cool completely in pan.
Frost top with cream cheese icing. Gently drag the tines of a fork from side to side
through the frosting to create wave pattern. Sprinkle with Halloween shaped
sprinkles. Cut into 24 bars and serve.

Happy Fall Ya'll

I have been dressing up my blog with some fun fall decor, pumpkins and scarecrows with fall colors. I love this time of the year and just had to change up the scene a bit. Thank you to my favorite background site "cutest blog on the block" for some awesome free fall backgrounds. I redid my header with Photoshop and my favorite field picture of the 3 amigo kiddos, a Sheri Allison Photography original shown below.
This has to be my favorite picture of all 3 kids, even though they have grown alot since then, it tells the tale of our household, big brother leading his girls thru their journey into adulthood and protecting them as a big brother would.  Good night blogger world.
